Almond Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

For the Smoothie base

  • 1/2 cup raw Almond nuts (preferably soaked overnight)
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your choice of milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon maca powder (optional)
  • 1/2 rolled oats (optional to keep hunger at bay until lunch time)

For the toppings

  • 1/2 a banana
  • drizzle of very dark melted chocolate pieces (I use 99% cacao) & peanut butter
  • Few raw almonds
  • A handful of any granola you have (optional, I used homemade buckwheat granola)
  • A sprinkle of cacao nibs (optional)
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon
  • A drizzle of date syrup

Directions

  1. Blend all the smoothie ingredients in a blender
  2. Place in a smoothie bowl
  3. Top with the toppings
