Raspberry Lemonade (Naturally Sweetened)
This raspberry lemonade is a delicious sweet and tart summer drink and is super simple to make. All you need is just 4 base ingredients; plus this recipe is naturally sweetened using an unrefined sugar!
Low Fat, Vegan, Vegetarian
or maple or your favourite sweetener
edible flowers or herbs
Combine the raspberries, lemon juice, and sweetener to a bowl/jug and muddle well or use a blender to puree.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher or individual glasses and then top up with the soda water and optional rose extract.
Optional step 3:
Infuse with herbs or other fruit, garnish, if desired, and serve with or without ice cubes.
How To Store:
Leftover homemade lemonade will store in the
refrigerator for 4-5 days when covered
. Just give it a quick stir before using and away you go.
Serve your lemonade glass with ice, rather than in the pitcher
. That way, you won't dilute the entire batch.
You could also make
lemon juice/ orange juice ice-cubes
to mix with normal ones.
dilute this mix with still water instead of fizzy
For a super simple hack to
get the most juice out of your lemons
. Microwave them for around 20 seconds, roll on the counter, then squeeze as usual.
Feel free to experiment with
combining the raspberries with other fruits,
such as peach, orange, etc.
You can also add various herbs to the raspberry lemonade, for additional flavor. My favorites include
fresh mint leaves, basil,
You could also
add a little optional fruit juice for extra flavor
. Cranberry juice and orange juice are some of my favorites for raspberries. Be aware; they will affect the color
of the drink.
If using a powdered sweetener like erythritol,
mix it directly into the lemon juice to dissolve
before adding the water.
type of lemon you use will also affect the tartness of the lemonade
. Meyer lemons are sweeter and will require less additional sweetener.
