These candied grapes are a fun, sweet treat that kids will love. Made with grapes, sugar, and water, they are perfect for afternoon snacking, parties, or special occasions.
Remove the stems from the grapes, rinse them thoroughly, and dry them well with a kitchen towel or paper towel.
Add the water and 1/4 cup of the sugar to a medium-sized saucepan. Allow the sugar to melt over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. For this recipe, no need to hit candy temperature.
Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes.
Carefully place the grapes in the saucepan. Use a spoon or swirl them around to coat them entirely with the syrup.
Place a wire rack over a baking sheet or parchment paper. Use a skimmer or a spoon to transfer the grapes onto the rack in a single layer, not touching. Let them dry for 30-60 minutes. The coating should feel sticky but not wet.
Coat the grapes with the rest of the sugar. For best coverage, roll each grape individually. Alternatively, you can use a small sifter to sprinkle sugar over the grapes. Then, flip them and sprinkle the other side.Watch the video to see how I made them.
Set the candied grapes aside for another 30-60 minutes. Then you can store them for later or enjoy them.
