Ingredients for homemade In-N-Out sauce.
  • Mayonnaise: It’s the base of the In-N-Out sauce and brings that creamy texture. Use your favorite brand or even homemade mayonnaise.
  • Ketchup: Adds tanginess and sweetness. The tomato flavor complements the other ingredients.
  • Sweet pickle relish: Brings a bit of crunch and tang.
  • White sugar: Balances the flavors.
  • White vinegar: Provides that tangy kick.

Measure out the ingredients. Also, if you think you will need a big batch, you can easily double the recipe.

Place all the ingredients in a bowl (or directly in a jar or glass container) and stir until well incorporated. Now, you can taste test and adjust to your liking—you can add a pinch of salt, pepper, paprika, or yellow mustard if wanted.

Then, transfer the mixture to a jar or glass container. Finally, let it rest for the best flavor—place it in the fridge for 30-60 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

How to serve In-N-Out sauce

This In-N-Out burger spread is such a versatile topping. Here are some of my favorite ways to use it:

How to store

  • In the fridge: You can store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Make ahead: The In-N-Out sauce is even better after the flavors have had time to meld. So you can prepare it a day or two before you need it and you can keep it in the fridge.
